The spa industry in India has recently witnessed some phenomenal growth. But, visiting a spa in India is a tricky affair. As it involves dressing in bare essentials in front of strangers, allowing yourself to be pummeled, and, showering in unfamiliar bathrooms, you have to be very careful about where you go. You have to ensure that hygiene plays an important role during your treatments, that your therapies are effective and offer value for money, and, the staff knows that the best service comes with a smile.
While I have enjoyed pampering at various spas across the country, one such spa that I feel is worth a mention is-The Four Fountains Spa. Located in 8 cities across the country, they advertise themselves as the largest chain of affordable day spas. Operational since 2007, this place offers almost the same therapies as the other spas in India, such as, detoxification, de-stressing, immunity, and, beauty treatments for both, men and women. However, there is a certain aura about this spa that sets it apart. It could be exceptionally hospitable staff, small but smartly laid out rooms, or, perhaps a gorgeous ambiance. Another feature that I am pretty impressed about is that before your treatment, you undergo a test designed to measure your stress levels. It is a small set of questionnaire carried out by a skilled doctor (Dr.Risha Nasir, Delhi) to ensure best results from your therapy.
Even though I visited The Four Fountains Spa in Delhi, located midst of maddening, bustling South Extention market, due to the professionalism i observed, I am assuming the same exceptional services across the country.
After glazing at the vast menu of therapies, the one that I opted for was Aromatherapy Massage (Radiating). It is a one-hour gentle massage that uses Jojoba, wheat germ, almond, and extra virgin oil to leave your skin soft, supple, and, glowing. I must say my therapist; ‘Chungte’ made it a blissful experience. If you are unsure about what therapies to choose, feel free to consult the friendly staff. And as most treatments are nominally priced between Rs 599-Rs 1599, you can easily include spa treatments in your regular wellness regimen.
Overall, The Four Fountains Spa did an excellent job, leaving me wonderfully refreshed. It’s certainly a place that will not leave you disappointed. I rate them 4 ½ on a scale of five as I believe there is always a scope of improvement.
