We all know that 8th March is celebrated as International Women’s Day. It is a symbol of women’s equality, empowerment, and identity. Respect

I read it somewhere, “The true test of your manhood is how you treat a woman. All woman, Any woman, Every woman”. The inches in your pants does not make you a man, it only makes you half a man, rest is how you treat a woman. Taking in account the ever-increasing numbers of crime against women, respect is the first and foremost gift any man can give to a woman.

Gender Equality

One of the most disappointing facts of the 21st century is that gender equality is still unknown for most women worldwide. Even today, women continue to have lesser rights, lower health status and education, less wages, and limited access to resources. It is not just the duty of the system but also of each individual to promote gender equality. Every man must pledge on this woman’s day to partner in the culture change essential for the society to thrive.

Safety

Those expensive jewel pieces, costly dresses, really do not hold any value if a woman is unsafe in her own surroundings. It is estimated that maximum number of rapes are committed by known men. It’s high time to create a safe environment for women, not just in big cities but also in small villages where cases of sexual abuse goes virtually unreported.

There is no better gift for a woman other that the attitude that reflects belief in the strength and power of her womanhood.

Happy Women’s Day! It’s never too late to make a difference.

I can’t wait for a day when there’s no need for a special day to remember that women are important and (should be) valued members of life. Good post.
